Join Ròisìn McBrinn, Clean Break's joint Artistic Director, and director of Thick As Thieves, the cast of the play and a panel of invited guests to unpack the play in a 30 minute Q&A.

Ròisìn is Joint Artistic Director of Clean Break and has worked with the company since 2016, initially as Head of Artistic Programme and more recently as Joint Artistic Director. During that time has directed Joanne (Soho Theatre and RSC), House/Amongst The Reeds (Yard Theatre) and Thick As Thieves for the company. She was formerly Associate Director at Sherman Cymru where she oversaw the commissioning and developing of new Welsh writing. She has directed plays all over the UK and Ireland for the past 15 years.

Lucy Baldwin BA (Hons) MA FRSA FHEA
Lucy is a Senior lecturer in Criminology at De Montfort University.Prior to entering the world of Academia full time Lucy had worked as both a Social Worker and a Probation Officer across a broad range of social and criminal justice settings. She recently convened the 'Women, Families, Crime & Justice Research Network' - which hopes to bring together academics, practitioners, service users and service providers. She has written extensively on issues around maternal imprisonment.


Jennifer Joseph
Jennifer is a Clean Break Member. After an arrest and some time spent in prison, Jen was referred to Clean Break, something she describes as “the saving of her soul.” Now a successful actor, she often works with Clean Break, speaking about her experiences and performing in the company’s work. She acted alongside a stellar cast in Phyllida Lloyd’s Shakespeare Trilogy for the Donmar Warehouse and continues to find other success both on stage and screen. As a potent advocate for Arts in Prisons, she takes part in outreach programmes about penal issues and is a Trustee of Women In Prison.
