Clean Break's Members Programme is available for free to women aged 18 and above who have lived experience of the criminal justice system or are at risk of entering it due to the challenges they are facing, such as mental ill health or substance use issues, which place them in circumstances that make interaction with the criminal justice system difficult to avoid.
The programme offers Members a foundation of learning and skills in theatre performance, creativity and wellbeing, and opportunities to engage in professional, public facing performance projects.
All workshops are led by brilliant women theatre artists and have our trauma-informed approach at their heart. Our unique, holistic practice means we can support you to reach your full potential. The workshops we offer are:
Health and Wellbeing - A space to creatively explore your emotional and physical wellbeing.
Creative Space - An opportunity to develop confidence and creativity. No previous experience in theatre or performance is necessary, the aim is enjoyment.
Theatre Makers - A space to develop performance skills, with an opportunity to perform at the end of the season.
Writers Circle - A supportive creative space for women who write or would like to write.
Clean Break Members also have access to our dedicated support team, free lunches, childcare contributions, therapy and travel costs to our women only space in Kentish Town.
The programme focuses on nurturing and supporting the new talent of under-represented women artists and offers training, workshops and live performance opportunities. Artists will leave the programme equipped to embark on a career in the theatre industry.
